Saginaw friends share Mega Millions jackpot

The first time they bought a Lottery ticket together proved to be lucky for two Saginaw men, when they won half of a $35 million Mega Millions jackpot in Tuesday night's drawing.

Keith Bryce, 44, and Aristeo Robelin, 37, formed a Lottery Club, they called His Club and picked up their check for $7,428,359, which was the cash value of half of the jackpot, minus taxes, at the Lottery headquarters on Thursday. The other winning jackpot ticket was sold in California.

Congratulations to Keith and Aristeo on their good fortune, said Lottery Commissioner Gary Peters. We wish them the best with their new-found wealth.

Bryce and Robelin have been friends for eight or nine years and both are regular Lottery players. But their purchase of the winning Mega Millions ticket on Tuesday was their first joint purchase. Both men called the win a miracle.

Robelin, who works at Dennis Bryce Installations, is planning a wonderful Christmas for his family, and Bryce is looking forward to purchasing a new Hummer.

The winning ticket was sold at South Michigan Express Mart, 408 S. Michigan Ave., in Saginaw. Numbers were 7-8-47-51-52 and the Mega ball was 5.

Mega Millions is a multi-state game which features drawings every Tuesday and Friday evening. Member states, in addition to Michigan, include California, Georgia, Illinois, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Texas, Virginia and Washington.

All proceeds from the Lottery are contributed to the state School Aid Fund which supports kindergarten through 12th grade public education in Michigan. In fiscal year 2005, the contribution was $667.6 million.
