Robbers Hit Seaside Veterans' Bingo Game
Police are searching for two masked robbers who stole money at a Seaside bingo game.
The robbery at gunpoint happened on Friday at the Oldemeyer Center, where about 150 veterans of foreign wars were holding their weekly bingo game.
Nancy Towne, a representative for the center, said that the veterans didn't know how the bandits got past two security guards who were on duty at the time of the heist.
"I'm not really sure", Towne said. "My understanding is (that) they came through the dance studio through a side door. It's entirely possible because it was so quick and quiet. So, security might not have necessarily been in that location at that time".
The Oldemeyer Center is now looking at ways to toughen up security during events.
